SPARK PLUGS, REPLACEMENT |

Disconnect the battery cables, and then remove the battery and battery carrier.
Remove the air cleaner lower case.
Disconnect the spark plug cord.
Remove the spark plug with a plug-wrench.
Recommended spark plug:
NGK: FR5AP-11
Tighten the spark plug lightly with hand, and then secure with a plug-wrench to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:
21 Nm (2.1 kgf-m, 15.2 ft-lb)

Be sure to place the gasket between the cylinder head
and spark plug.

If a torque wrench is not available, tighten the spark
plug until gasket contacts cylinder head; then tighten further 1/4
to 1/2 turns.

Disconnect the connector from ignition coil.
Remove the ignition coil.
Remove the spark plug with a spark plug socket.
Set new spark plugs.
Recommended spark plug:
NGK: PFR6G
Tighten the spark plug lightly with hand, and then secure with a plug-wrench to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:
21 Nm (2.1 kgf-m, 15.2 ft-lb)
Tighten the ignition coil.
Tightening torque:
16 Nm (1.6 kgf-m, 11.7 ft-lb)
