PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION (PDI) PROCEDURE


The Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) consists of two parts. Part 1, Initial Pre-Delivery Inspection, should be filled out and completed by the originally invoiced dealer within 5 days of delivery. Part 2, Final Pre-Delivery Inspection, should be completed by the retailing dealer as evidence that a final pre-delivery inspection was performed before the customer took delivery of the car.

NOTE: The Pre-Delivery Inspection forms must remain with the car, even if it is transferred to another dealer.

Initial Pre-Delivery Inspection (Originally Invoiced Dealer)





Step Check point
1. Wheels & tires - tools

1. Check wheel bolt torque and install center wheel caps
Wheel nut tightening torque:
90 Nm (9.1 kgf-m, 65.7 ft-lb)

2. Check tire pressures, inclusing spare tire. See label on driver's door B-pillar for correct pressures.
3. Place tools in tool kit holder left side trunk
2. Fuse installation

Move 15 amp fuse (A) from transport location (interior light fuse) under hood fuse box, disconnect engine test mode connector (behind instrument panel) and connect A/C compressor lead.

3. Battery

Check battery with Saab Battery Tester. Record readings. Check battery connections and securing.

4. Underbody

Raise the car on a lift and check the underbody for transportation damage. If damage noted, see Transportation Damage Claims Manual .
5. Fluids

Check all fluid levels.

6. Service Campaigns

Check IRIS On-Line Recall & Service Campaign Inquiry screen and perform applicable updates.
8. Road test

Road test for a minimum of 5 miles/5 minutes. Check performance of drivetrain and chassis, paying particular attention to items below:

1. Steering wheel alignment (is steering wheel centered?)

2. Pulling - Tire balance (vibration?) - Driveability

3. Climate System performance

4. Brake performance, including parking brake functions

5. Instruments and controls, including: door locks, central locking, trunk release and fuel filler door, cruise control, wipers/washers, power windows and sunroof, mirrors and seats.

6. Audio System .

7. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector. Retrieve, correct and clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
8. Remove fuse installed earlier (#2) in PDI. The car can now be stored.



Final Pre-Delivery Inspection (Retailing dealer)

Step Check point
1. Battery

Check battery with Saab Battery Tester. Record readings.

2. Protection

1. Remove all interior protection, install floor mats.

2. Remove all transport protection.

3. Keys/remote control

Account for all remote controls/keys and Document organizer.

4. Clock

Set clock.

5. Tire pressure

Check tire pressures, inclusing spare tire. See label on driver's door B-pillar for correct pressures.

6. Fluids

Check all fluid levels.

7. Audio System

Check Audio System functions

8. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)

Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector. Retrieve, correct and clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)

9. Fuel

Fill fuel tank. Minimum recommendation: 87 octance, 93 octane for Aero. Tighten fuel filler cap.

10. Appearance

Wash exterior and clean interior for delivery to customer. Perform all operations listed in the Final Quality Inspection form (documents, dealer installed accessories etc) .
