DIAGNOSIS:
Test mode connector circuit is shorted.
TROUBLE SYMPTOM:
Malfunction indicator light blinks at a cycle of 3 Hz when the ignition switch is turned to ON.
WIRING DIAGRAM:
CHECK TEST MODE CONNECTOR.
Disconnect the test mode connector.Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Dose the malfunction indicator light blink?

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM CONNECTOR AND ENGINE GROUNDING TERMINAL.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.Disconnect the connector from ECM.
Measure the resistance of harness between ECM connector and chassis ground.

Is the resistance less than 5 Ω?
Yes |
Repair short circuit in harness between ECM and test mode connector.
