Oil filter housing

To remove



1. Remove the engine cover and unscrew the two top oil filter housing bolts.

2. Raise the car and remove the lower engine cover.


3. Place a receptacle under the engine, pinch the coolant hoses with Hose pinch-off pliers 30 07 739 and detach the coolant hoses from the oil filter housing.

4. Unscrew the two bottom oil filter housing bolts and remove the oil filter housing from the cylinder block.


To fit



1. Clean off gasket remains from the sealing surfaces.

2. Fit the oil filter housing with a new gasket and screw in the two top bolts without tightening them.

3. Tighten the tow bottom oil filter bolts.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).

4. Connect the coolant hoses to the oil filter housing and remove the pinch-off pliers.

5. Fit the lower engine cover.

6. Lower the car and tighten the two top oil filter bolts.


Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).

Fit the engine cover.

7. Check the oil level. Top up if necessary.

8. Fill with coolant, check the integrity of the system and bleed it as follows:

AC/ACC must be off.


Connect exhaust hoses to both the engine exhaust system and the auxiliary heater exhaust system and start the engine.

Start the parking heater with the diagnostic tool (Body, SID, Activate, Heater). The parking heater stops when the engine temperature has reached 80°C or on exiting the parking heater menu.

Make sure there is a continuous flow of coolant in the hose from the thermostat housing to the expansion tank.

Run the engine until the thermostat has opened.

9. Check the coolant level and top up if necessary.
