Remove the gearbox, see 4. Manual gearbox, Adjustment/replacement, To remove

Remove the pressure plate and the clutch disc, see 4. Clutch system, Adjustment/replacement

Remove the flywheel.

4. |
Screw in a self-tapping screw into the seal and pull out the seal.

To fit |

Clean off gasket remains from the sealing surfaces.

2. |
Lubricate the new sealing ring with acid-free vaseline and position it in protective sleeve 83 95 402 (KM-934-1).

3. |
Position the sealing ring with protective sleeve and tool 83 95 402 (KM-934-2) onto the crankshaft. Press in the sealing ring with tool 83 95 402 (KM-454-4) until it is flush with the cylinder block.

4. |
Fit the flywheel with new bolts. Use tool 83 94 868 as a backstop.
Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft) + 30°. |
5. |
Fit the pressure plate and clutch disc, see 4. Clutch system, Adjustment/replacement
.
Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 lbf ft). |

Fit the gearbox, see 4. Manual gearbox, Adjustment/replacement, To fit
