2. Remove the air cleaner with mass air flow meter.

3. Loosen the fuel hoses from the bracket and wiring with console and move it aside.

4. Raise the car and remove the right front wheel.

5. Remove the bottom engine cover, the right air shield and the cover in the right wheel housing.

6. Position a container under the radiator, open the drain plug and drain the coolant.

7. Relieve the belt pulley by turning it counter-clockwise with a 19 mm wrench (towards the rear of the car) and lift off the belt.

Lower the car.

8. Position jack with a wooden block under the engine and carefully raise it until the engine is relieved.

9. Remove the right engine mounting with bracket.

10. Remove the nut for the rear engine mounting.

11. Raise the engine further and remove the coolant pump belt pulley.

12. Remove the coolant pump.

To fit

1. Clean the sealing surfaces and fit the coolant pump using a new O-ring. The slot in the pump should face down.

Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).

2. Fit the coolant pump belt pulley.

Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).

3. Fit the multigroove V-belt, lower the engine slightly and fit the right engine mounting.

Tightening torque 47 Nm (35 lbf ft).

Carefully lower the engine and remove the jack.

4. Make sure that the engine is positioned correctly and tighten the right engine mounting to the body.

Tightening torque 47 Nm (35 lbf ft).

5. Tighten the nut for the rear engine mounting.

Tightening torque 47 Nm (35 lbf ft).

6. Refit the console with the wiring and refit the fuel hoses.

7. Raise the car, relieve the belt pulley by turning the belt pulley counter-clockwise (towards the rear in the car) with a 19 mm wrench and fit the belt on the pulley. Check the position of the belts on all pulleys.

8. Refit the cover in the right wheel housing, the right air shield and the bottom engine cover.

9. Fit the right front wheel.

Tightening torque 110 Nm (81 lbf ft).

Lower the car.

10. Fit the air cleaner and the mass air flow sensor.

11. Check that the radiator drain plug is tightened.

12. Fill coolant, check for system leaks and bleed as follows:

Note

AC/ACC must be shut off.

Connect exhaust hoses to both engine exhaust system and auxiliary heater exhaust system and start the engine.

Start the parking heater with the diagnostic tool (Body, SID, Activate, Heater). The parking heater shuts off when the engine has reached 80°C or when the parking heater menu is exited.

Check that there is a continuous flow of coolant in the hose from the thermostat housing to the expansion tank. Rev up the engine briefly to ensure circulation of the liquid.

Run the engine until the thermostat has opened.

13. Shut off the engine and top up the cooling system if needed.
