Open the drain plug and drain the coolant. Unscrew the expansion tank filler cap to speed this up.

Remove the cover over the throttle body (turbo).

3. |
Detach the bypass hose and delivery pipe between the charge air cooler and throttle body (turbo).

4. |
Undo the bolt securing the coolant pipe to the coolant pump.
|
5. |
Undo the screw securing the coolant pipe in the front left corner of the engine.

6. |
Detach the throttle body preheating hose and remove the bolts securing the coolant pipe to the thermostat housing cap.

7. |
Remove the thermostat housing cap and extract the thermostat.

To fit |

Clean the sealing surfaces and fit the thermostat and thermostat housing cap.
|
2. |
Fit the coolant pipe back on the coolant pump but do not tighten the bolt.
|
3. |
Fit the bolt in the corner of the engine and fit the coolant pipe retaining bolts to the thermostat housing cap but do not tighten them.

4. |
When the pipe is fixed at all securing points the bolts can be tightened.
|
5. |
Attach the throttle body preheating hose.
|
6. |
Make sure that the radiator drain plug is tightened. Fill up with coolant and check the system for leaks.
|
7. |
Fit the delivery pipe between the charge air cooler and throttle body and refit the bypass hose (turbo).
|
8. |
Fill up and bleed the system as follows:

Fill the system up to the MAX level, fit the pressure cap, start the engine and warm it up at varying rpm until the radiator fan starts.

• |
Switch off the engine and top up as necessary to the MAX level.
