Cleaning the mass air flow sensor
1.
Put the ignition in position OFF.
2.
Mark the position of the sensor and unplug the connector
3.
Remove the sensor. Use a Torx bit T20 with centre hole (safety bit). Place the sensor on a rag to soak up any spills during cleaning.
4.
Spray the top and bottom of the sensor with Electronics cleaner 30 04 223. Allow the liquid to work for approx. 1 minute. Exercise caution; the sensor components should not come into contact with tools or other devices.
5.
Carefully blow clean the sensor internally and externally with compressed air. Keep a distance of at least 30 cm.
6.
Repeat this treatment twice.
7.
Lubricate the sensor O-ring sparingly with petroleum jelly to facilitate fitting.
8.
Fit the sensor according to the marking. The sensor is calibrated in this position and it must therefore be refitted in its original position.
9.
Plug in the connector.
