Conditions
The following conditions apply for the DTC in question:
•
|
P1174:
Depending on the vehicle speed and the engine coolant temperature, a limit is determined at which the maximum injection quantity starts to be reduced. The higher the temperature and the lower the vehicle speed, the greater the reduction in power. When the temperature has dropped, the car will regain its original power. The function starts to take effect when the coolant temperature is 115°C (239°F).

•
|
P1175:
Pump temperature has exceeded 100°C (212°F).

Diagnostic help
P1174:
It is normal for the overheating protection to take effect under very extreme driving conditions, such as when the outdoor temperature is above 30°C (86°F) and the car is towing a caravan up steep hills, as in mountain areas. Make sure the cooling system is in order and that nothing is obstructing the passage of air in and out of the engine bay. If the cooling system is in order, clear the DTC and inform the customer of how the overheating protection works.
P1175:
Check the operation of the fuel filter pre-heater so that is not active when the temperature of the fuel out from the filter exceeds 25°C (77°F).
