Boost pressure control valve
Boost pressure control valve |
The task of the control valve is to convert electronic instructions from the EDC 15 control module into negative pressure that affects the wastegate diaphragm. The negative pressure is taken from the engine vacuum pump, which always generates a pre-determined negative pressure.
The control valve pin 2 is connected to the control module pin 96 and pin 1 is connected to the control module pin 3 (B+).
The control valve is grounded through control module pin 96 with a 140 Hz PWM pulse. The timing ratio determines the magnitude of the negative pressure in the hose to the wastegate by which means the position of the regulator rod can be controlled.
Diagnostics |
If the control module output is short-circuited to B+, diagnostic trouble code P1126 will be generated.
If the control module output is short-circuited to ground, diagnostic trouble code P1125 will be generated.
If the actual boost pressure is too low in comparison with the desired boost pressure, diagnostic trouble code P1127 will be generated.
If the actual boost pressure is too high in comparison with the desired boost pressure, diagnostic trouble code P1128 will be generated.
