       | 1. | Undo then close the coolant expansion tank cap to release any pressure in the cooling system.

       | 2. | Remove the upper engine cover

       | 3. | Clamp the lower hose with pinch-off pliers close to the end.

       | 4. | Have some absorbent paper or similar at hand to soak up any coolant that escapes. Disconnect the lower hose from the EGR-valve.

       | 5. | Squeeze the upper coolant hose and check whether coolant comes out of the EGR valve pipe. A lack of coolant indicates that the hose is blocked and must therefore be changed.

       | 6. | Remove the pinch-off pliers from the lower coolant hose. Place the pinch-off pliers on the upper coolant hose to the EGR valve.

       | 7. | Squeeze the upper coolant hose and check that coolant runs out of the lower coolant hose on the EGR valve. A lack of coolant indicates that the hose is blocked and must therefore be changed.

       | 8. | Connect the coolant hose to the EGR valve and remove the pinch-off pliers.

       | 9. | Check the coolant level, start the engine and ensure there are no leaks.

       | 11. | Delete the DTCs, road test the car and check that no DTCs are generated.
