Rear silencer

To remove



1. Raise the car and loosen the exhaust pipe joint.

2. Remove the clips for the rubber mountings.

3. Unhook the rear silencer rubber mountings and lower the silencer.


To fit



1. Clean the joint.

2. Position the new silencer and fit new rubber mountings if needed.

3. Fit the clips for the rubber mountings. Replace the lock clips if needed.

4. Check that the rear silencer is suspended without forces or stresses acting on it and so that the exhaust pipe end is positioned in the slot in the bumper.

5. Tighten the joint.

Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).

Make sure that there is adequate clearance to parts next to the exhaust system.

6. Lower the car to the floor.

7. Start the engine and check for leakage.
