Front exhaust manifold (B258i)

1.
|
Unplug the oxygen sensors' leads, undo the cable clamps and clips and raise the car.
|
|
2.
|
Undo the catalytic converter joint, unscrew the nuts securing the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifolds and lower away the pipe.

Important
|
|
Gaskets are fitted between the exhaust manifolds and front exhaust pipe.
|
|
|
|
|
3.
|
Lower the car and remove the dipstick.
|
|
4.
|
Remove the heat shield and undo the exhaust manifold's nuts.
|
|
5.
|
Remove the exhaust manifold and gaskets.
|
|
1.
|
Clean the surfaces and fit the exhaust manifold with a new gasket.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
|
|
2.
|
Fit the heat shield and insert the dipstick. Raise the car.
|
|
3.
|
Position the front exhaust pipe and screw it to the exhaust manifold. Fit new gaskets.
Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).
|
|
4.
|
Bolt together the joints under the car.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
Lower the car to the floor.

5.
|
Plug in the oxygen sensors' leads and fit the cable clamps and clips.
