Front exhaust pipe (B206i/B234i)

Unplug the oxygen sensor's leads, release the cable clamp and clip and raise the car.
Important
|
Do not twist the leads. The oxygen sensor is sensitive to knocks and jolts and must be handled with care.

Remove the oxygen sensor.
|
3.
|
Loosen the joint between the front exhaust pipe and the middle pipe.
|
4.
|
Unscrew the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
|
5.
|
Remove the bolt from the bracket and lower away the exhaust pipe.
|

Fit the bolt securing the exhaust pipe to the bracket on the engine but do not tighten it.

3.
|
Position the front exhaust pipe and screw it to the exhaust manifold.
Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).

4.
|
Tighten the bolt securing the exhaust pipe to the bracket on the engine.
Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).

5.
|
Bolt together the joints under the car.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).

6.
|
Fit the oxygen sensor in place but first lubricate the threads with Molycote 1000.
Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 lbf ft).
Important
|
The oxygen sensor is sensitive to knocks and jolts and must be handled with care. It is important to ensure that the connection between oxygen sensor and union is gastight.

|
Lower the car to the floor.
|
8.
|
Plug in the oxygen sensor's leads and fit the cable clamp and clip.
