      | 1. | Unplug the oxygen sensors' leads, undo the cable clamps and clips and raise the car.

             Do not twist the leads. The oxygen sensors are sensitive to knocks and jolts and must be handled with care.

      | 2. | Remove the oxygen sensors, one for each bank of cylinders. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 3. | Unbolt the joint between the front exhaust pipe and catalytic converter. 
 
   
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 4. | Unscrew the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold. 
 
 
         
          
           | Important |  
           | 
             Gaskets are fitted between the exhaust manifold and front exhaust pipe.
             |

 | 
    
   
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
   
   
     
   
   
  
  
  
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 2. | Position the front exhaust pipe and screw it to the exhaust manifold. Fit new gaskets. 
 Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).
 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 3. | Bolt together the joints under the car. 
 Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 4. | Fit the oxygen sensors, but first lubricate the threads with Molycote 1000. 
 
   Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 lbf ft).

             The oxygen sensors are sensitive to knocks and jolts and must be handled with care. It is important to ensure that the connections between oxygen sensors and unions are gastight.

      | 5. | Lower the car and plug in the oxygen sensors' leads. Fit the cable clamps and clips.
