Rear exhaust manifold (B258i)

|
Disconnect the battery's negative cable, unplug the oxygen sensors' leads, undo the cable clamps and clips and raise the car.
|
2.
|
Unscrew the nuts securing the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifolds and lower away the pipe.
Important
|
Gaskets are fitted between the exhaust manifolds and front exhaust pipe.
|
|
|
3.
|
Lower the car to the floor and undo the upper nuts retaining the exhaust manifold.
|
4.
|
Raise the car and undo the lower nuts. Remove the exhaust manifold with gaskets.
Warning
|
The heat shield may have sharp edges.
|

|
|
|
|
1.
|
Clean the surfaces and fit the exhaust manifold with new gaskets.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
|
2.
|
Position the front exhaust pipe and screw it to the exhaust manifold. Fit new gaskets.
Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).

3.
|
Bolt together the joints under the car.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
Lower the car to the floor.

4.
|
Plug in the oxygen sensors' leads and fit the cable clamps and clips.

The heat shield may have sharp edges.
