Conditions
Corrosion may form around the hole of the rear attachment point on one of the rear exhaust pipe heat shields. This causes the heat shield to fall against the exhaust pipe and cause a rattling noise.
Fault symptoms
Rattling from lower rear section of car
Procedure

Undo the rear nut on the exhaust pipe heat shield and carefully move the heat shield out.

Remove loose particles using a brush or the like.
|
|
4.
|
Fit the heat shield. Use a bolt, part no. 40 87 664, with a wash that covers the corroded hole, part no. 79 75 469.
