O-rings may cause problems with driveability
All cars with 4-cylinder engines without turbo (B204i/B206i/B234i).
It is possible for the O-rings between the resonator and the throttle body to be fitted incorrectly on assembly causing the engine to take in air that has not passed through the mass air flow sensor. This can result in driveability problems and subsequent fault diagnosis procedures.
The following measures must be taken unconditionally when carrying out work that involves removing the resonator from the throttle body:
•
Check O-rings and their locations. Replace deformed O-rings.
•
Lubricate O-rings with acid-free vaseline.
Normal warranty conditions apply.
