Conditions
•

Vehicle speed has exceeded 20 km/h during this driving cycle
|
•
|
Engine coolant temperature >60C (>140F)
|
•
|
Throttle position sensor indicating idling speed
|
•
|
Engine speed exceeding 1200 rpm or below 700 rpm
|
•
|
Normal idling speed cannot be attained
|
Diagnostic help
The function of the idle speed control valve can be checked with the diagnostic tool.

Reading and activating current opening degree:
|

|
Select "
Data Display / Output Control (New)".
|
-
|
Select "
Idle Air Control Valve".
|
The valve is activated for 10 sec.
Checking the wiring harness. Intermittent faults may occur in connection with short circuits and open circuits. Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in several directions to locate any problems in the wiring, including intermediate connectors. Observe the multimeter, scan tool or test lamp during the check.
