Vehicle Speed
Vehicle Speed |
The ABS control module sends a vehicle speed signal to the Trionic control module pin 39. The signal is a square wave that varies between 0 V and B+ 29 times/wheel revolution. The vehicle speed signal is used to:
• |
determine the gear currently engaged
|
• |
activate the SHIFT UP lamp (does not apply in 5th gear)
|
• |
limit the boost pressure in R, 1st and 2nd gear
|
• |
activate fuel shut-off in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear
|
• |
activate vehicle speed limitation by limiting the boost pressure at 230 km/h (R-engine, 235 km/h).
|
• |
prevent adaptation of idling speed control when the car is moving. The functions above will lapse if the vehicle speed signal is absent and boost pressure will be limited on cars with manual gearbox.
|
Diagnosis |
• |
If the speed value is implausible, diagnostic trouble code P0501 will be generated.
