The battery is positioned on the left in the engine bay and its negative terminal is connected to the bodywork and gearbox. In certain markets, the batteries of petrol-engined cars are fitted with a protective cover to reduce excessive heating.
Cars with petrol engines have a 60 Ah battery and diesel engines an 85 Ah.
So-called redundancy grounding is provided between the gearbox and the left-hand wheel arch.
During the model year, a drainage hose has been introduced. It runs from the battery vent nipple, along the wiring harness on the left-hand side and ends next to the left-hand fog light.
