Cruise control signal active, to engine management system
Cruise control signal active, to engine management system |
For the engine to go down to basic charging pressure, the Trionic needs to know when cruise control is active. This information is sent to the Trionic via pin 9 (J).
For smoother control of the car's speed when cruise control is active, boost pressure is limited to basic charging pressure. The Trionic transmits about 10 V via a resistor. Pin 9 (J) is grounded when cruise control is active, causing the voltage on Trionic pin 36 to drop from 10 to 0 V.
Boost pressure will now be limited, which means that the engine will develop slightly less power, making it easier for the cruise control system to control the car's speed.
