Lighting and key warning

Lighting and key warning

DICE monitors the main lighting and the ignition key. If the main lighting is left on or the key is forgotten in the ignition switch, DICE gives a warning signal. The function can be turned ON/OFF.

Lighting warning

An acoustic warning signal will be activated if the driver's door is open, the parking lights are on, and the key is removed from the ignition. Voltage +B from the ignition switch is supplied to pin 7 on the control module. This means that DICE detects +B when the key is in the ignition switch.

If the driver's door is opened, DICE receives information from TWICE via the bus (OPEN/CLOSED).

So that DICE can safely determine in which position (0-1-2) the switch (10) is, it uses information from TWICE and its own pin connection.

The parking lights are controlled by TWICE (632) which gives information to the bus (ON/OFF). The message ON corresponds to switch position 1 and the message OFF corresponds to switch positions 1 or 2.

DICE pin 39 is connected to switch pin 2, which corresponds to position 0. DICE pin 15 is connected to switch pin 4, which corresponds to position 2.

DICE outputs information on the bus to SID (ACOUSTIC SIGNAL) and a PLING sound is generated.

Maximum length of time for the acoustic signal is 10 minutes.

Key warning

The warning signal is activated if the driver's door is open and if the ignition switch is in the LOCK or OFF position. Voltage +B from the ignition switch is fed to the control module pin 7. This means that DICE detects +B when the key is in the ignition switch.

If the driver's door is opened, DICE receives information from TWICE via the bus (OPEN/CLOSED). DICE outputs information on the bus to SID (ACOUSTIC SIGNAL) and a PLING sound is generated.
