Temperature sensor, outdoor
Temperature sensor, outdoor |
General |
The temperature sensor for the outside air, which is fitted in the centre of the lower spoiler, supplies the SID unit with information on the current outdoor temperature. The sensor is an NTC resistor.
The SID unit measures the outdoor temperature by applying +5 V to the sensor through a resistor (10 kohm) in the control module via pin 19. The sensor is grounded via pin 5.
The voltage across the integral resistor in the SID unit is proportional to the outside air temperature. The SID unit uses the outdoor temperature for the trip computer function and the reading is sent as bus information OUTSIDE TEMP, unit °C, see .
Diagnostics |
If there is an open circuit/short to ground in the circuit to the temperature sensor, diagnostic trouble code B1746 is generated.
