Fuses and relays

Power distribution panels

All power distribution panels are included in the wiring harnesses. In the engine bay there are

maxi fuse board 501, see Fuse board 501 for maxi fuses in engine bay

engine bay main fuse board 342a, see Fuse board 342a in engine bay

engine bay relay board 342b, see Relay board 342b in engine bay

The engine bay fuse and relay boards 342a and 342b are integrated into the same unit.

The dashboard fuse and relay boards form two separate units:

fuse board 22a, see Fuse board 22a in the dashboard

relay board 22b LHD, see Relay board 22b in dashboard, LHD

relay board 22b RHD, see Relay board 22b in the dashboard, RHD

In the Convertible model there are another two relay boards, one at each of the rear-seat speakers:

left-hand side 519LH, see Relay board 519LH in rear seat, Convertible

right-hand side 519RH, see Relay board 519RH in rear seat, Convertible

All fuses are mounted on fuse boards. Only the passenger-seat relay is located apart from the relay boards.

General

The fuses are of the blade type. Compared with older types, and taken together with the connection sockets, they give a lower voltage drop. A further point is that they have greater resistance to corrosion.

Checking a blade fuse

On every blade fuse there are test sockets that make it possible to check whether the fuse is good without having to take it out of the fuse box. If there is a voltage on both sockets the fuse is good.

If the fuse is out of the box, you can see whether the wire has blown.
