Noise from outboard drive shaft CV joints |
SI 475-1891, SI 475-1892 and SI 475-1883
Cars affected |
All cars.
Background |
On new cars, noise from the outboard driveshaft CV joints can be heard when the wheels are turned to full lock at the same time as the accelerator is depressed.
This is because the grease in the joints has not had time to be properly distributed.
Procedure |
In the case of a complaint about the above, inform the customer that the noise will disappear when the car has been driven normally for about 100-150 km (65-100 miles).
