Brake-light switch

Brake-light switch

The control module is supplied with current on pin 14 via the brake light switch when the brake pedal is depressed.

The control module uses information on the status (ON/OFF) of the brake light switch for:

If the brake pedal is released and depressed again during ABS operation, the control module will return to the starting position in the ABS control cycle and start a fresh cycle.

Brake lights ON is one of 4 criteria for the control module to decide on active EDB control.

The pump motor test normally takes place at 6 km/h. In the case of brake lights ON, the test takes place at 15 km/h.

Diagnosis

The control module monitors the circuit by feeding a low current to pin 14, which is grounded via the brake-light lamps. If a break occurs in the circuit, DTC C2470 will be generated.
