Rear brake caliper, replacement

1.
|
Raise the car and remove the wheel.
|
2.
|
Press the brake pistons back, using a pair of slip-joint pliers.
|
3.
|
Depress the brake pedal slightly, using a brake pedal clamp.
|
4.
|
Detach the brake pipe from the brake caliper. Plug the brake pipe and the brake caliper.
|
5.
|
Remove the pins and retaining spring.
|
6.
|
Remove the brake pads, see Brakes, Brake discs and brake pads, Adjustment/replacement.

7.
|
Remove the two brake caliper retaining bolts and lift away the brake caliper.

Fit the brake caliper and plate shield, secure the bolts with Loctite 242 no. 74 96 268 and tighten with a torque wrench.
Tightening torque 80 Nm (59 lbf ft)

2.
|
Connect the brake pipes.
Tightening torque 14 Nm (10 lbf ft)
|
3.
|
Fit the brake pads, pins and retaining spring.
|
4.
|
Remove the brake pedal clamp and bleed the system.
|

|

Tightening torque 110 Nm (81 lbf ft)

6.
|
Lower the car and depress the brake pedal to press out the brake pistons. Adjust the brake fluid level.
