To remove

Warning

Read the safety and handling instructions in WIS before commencing work.


Important

Make sure the wheels are pointing straight ahead before beginning removal.



1. Turn the ignition to OFF.

2. Remove the steering wheel airbag, 2 plugs and screws.


3. Lift out the airbag module and unplug the connector.

Important

The steering wheel often comes loose suddenly from the cone and there is a risk that the contact roller and leads can fasten to the steering wheel and be damaged.


4. Loosen the steering wheel nut but leave it screwed on by a few threads at the top. Pull the steering wheel until it stops against the nut.

Warning

Never use the steering column adjustment to knock loose the steering wheel, as this will damage the impact joint.


5. Remove the nut and lift off the steering wheel carefully.


To fit


1. Make sure the wheels are pointing straight ahead.

2. Put the steering wheel in place.

3. Fit the steering wheel nut and tighten it.

Tightening torque: 38 Nm (28 lbf ft).


4. Plug in the connectors and fit the airbag module in the steering wheel with two screws and plugs.
