Airbag warning lamp
Airbag warning lamp |
System faults are indicated by the airbag warning lamp in the main instrument display panel lighting up and remaining on.
The airbag warning lamp is connected to ground via pin 6 of the control module.
If the control module's connector is unplugged while the ignition switch is in the ON position, the lamp will be grounded to pin 6 via a short-circuiting jumper in the connector and will remain on continuously.
The car is equipped with a central warning lamp which the MIU (Main Instrument Unit) lights up together with the airbag warning lamp.
When the ignition switch is turned to the Start or Drive position, the airbag warning lamp lights up for 3–4 seconds and then goes out, provided that no diagnostic trouble codes are stored in the memory.
If there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in memory, the lamp will light up for 3–4 seconds, go off for half a second and then light with a steady glow until the ignition is turned off or the diagnostic trouble codes are cleared.
If an airbag or seat-belt tensioner has been triggered, the airbag warning lamp will remain on continuously.
