Work on cars equipped with airbag

All Saab 9-3 are equipped with airbag system. Note the following when working with body repairs:

Read through the section "Safety and handling instructions" in Service Manual 8:6 Airbag before starting to work.

|
For work where the body may be subjected to bumps or blows, unplug the connection for the airbag system control module.
|
|
•
|
When welding, remove and cover the battery minus cable.
|
|
•
|
When painting in oven, the screw holes in the control module console must be covered to safeguard the control module grounding point.
