Adjusting the first bow locks

A Lock fittings fore-and-aft and lateral adjustment

1. Measure between the front edge of the first bow and the front edge of the seal. If there is a difference of more than 2 mm. the locks in the first bow must be checked and adjusted.

2. Operate the soft top to half open position and position the soft top support special tool (16) 82 93 144 so that the soft top does not fall when the hydraulic pressure is released.

4. Remove the retainer strip in the first bow front edge (9 screws).

5. Remove the upholstery by the handle with a small screwdriver and remove the handle by pulling the pins out of the groove.

6. Remove the cover fastened with two clips on the front rail. Hold the soft top support so that it does not release when the covers are folded out.

7. Check the left lock. Make sure that the front edge of the lock is in line with the lug, and that the lock is centred on the lug. Check the right lock in the same way.
