Background

On certain cars, the fifth bow seal against the soft top may break due to seal pulling from the ends on the fifth bow aluminium flange. The problem may result in water leakage.

Materials

79 73 969 Screws (2 pcs)

Diagnostic procedure

1. Run the soft top so that the fifth bow and the soft top cover are open.

2. Check to see if the screws according to point 5 are fitted. If they are, do not perform this campaign.

3. Remove the screw that holds the seal in the fifth bow on the left side. Remove the corresponding screw on the right side.

4. Distribute the seal symmetrically across the entire bow and make sure that it is fitted along the edge of the bow on both sides.

5. Fit a screw 79 73 969 between the seal and the fifth bow according to the illustration. The screw must not be pushed in. The screw must be turned in completely so that the head is tightened down on the end of the fifth bow.

Fit a screw in the same manner on the right side of the bow.

6. Fit the screw that holds the seal on both sides of the bow.
