Bonnet

Bonnet

The bonnet lock mechanism consists if a spring lock located in the front member and locks when closing against the spring-loaded locking pin.

The bonnet lock mechanism is controlled by a wire from the control located to the left in the cabin under the instrument panel on a LHD car and to the right on a RHD car.

When the bonnet lock is released, the front of the bonnet is raised by spring action. The bonnet can then be opened by releasing a catch. The lock mechanism is located in the middle and locks onto the front of the radiator member. The catch is located on the right side of the lock mechanism.

The bonnet has two gas springs that keep it in its open position. The gas springs are located along the front wings, one on each side, and are fitted with ballpins to the bodywork and the bonnet.

The hinges, double-sheared and lubrication-free, are fixed to the body and bonnet in a way that allows adjustment.
