Electrically heated rear window and door mirrors
Electrically heated rear window and door mirrors |
The electrically heated rear window and heated door mirrors are switched on and off with switch 116 in the control panel for heat and ventilation alternatively the ACC unit.
At the same time as the electrically heated rear window is switched on, the conductors 207 in the electrically heated door mirrors 126D and 126P also receive voltage.
+30-voltage is fed from fuse 1 to pin 30 on relay 113. When the ignition is in the ON position, +54-voltage is fed via fuse 21 to rocker switch 116.
When the switch is pressed, voltage is fed to pin 66 on control module DICE. The DICE control module grounds the relay on pin 35 and the bulb in the switch receives current at the same time.
Voltage is fed from the relay pin 87 partly across the electrically heated rear window 115 and partly across the electrically heated door mirrors 207D/P to ground.
The DICE control module grounds the relay for 12 minutes. At the same time, the battery voltage is checked every third minute and should it drop below a certain voltage, the DICE control module stops grounding the relay and the electrically heated rear window is switched off. The same will occur if the battery voltage is too high.
The electrically heated rear window is switched off at ignition for at most 20 seconds in order to give the starter motor maximal voltage.
The activation time can be adjusted using the diagnostics tool.
