Emergency operation of the electrically adjustable seat

If the electric operation does not work, the seat can not be adjusted lengthwise so that it is possible to reach the retaining bolts. A tool must then be used to move the seat manually.
Emergency operation when removing electric seat

1.

Raise the seat to its highest position.
|
2.
|
Remove the seat side panel.
Note
|
Electrically adjustable seat:
The front bolt has a protector on its tip. Retain this protector as it must be fitted to the bolt to prevent it from chafing against electrical wiring.

Remove the bevel gear, which drives the seat lengthwise, 2 Torx 30 screws. Hold the shaft protruding from the other side of the seat frame and pull out the gear.

4.
|
Dismantle the bevel gear, 2 or 3 Torx 20 screws.
|
5.
|
Press in the lock clip for the plastic bush and pull out the shaft. Wipe off grease from the dismantled shaft.

7.
|
Press a screwdriver, the largest possible, into the other end of the hose so that the screwdriver blade reaches the end of the shaft. Secure it with a hose clip as far from the screwdriver handle as possible.

8.
|
Fit the “tool” on the shaft and turn the screwdriver to operate the seat and access the retaining bolts.

It is possible to move the seat by pressing forwards and backwards against the seat.

Emergency operation when fitting seat

Important
|
Note. The bevel gear must be fitted when the seat is in place but before the bolts are tightened to torque.
|

Apply grease to the gear wheel and fit the shaft into the gear housing, making sure the shaft lock is positioned correctly.
|
3.
|
Put the cover in place and tighten the screws. Make sure the spring is positioned correctly.
|
4.
|
Hold on to the seat shaft and press the gear in place.
|
5.
|
Screw the gear to the seat base.
|
6.
|
Fit the front bolt in the lower seat panel. Fit the lower seat panel.
Important
|
Electrically adjustable seat:
Fit the protection on the front bolt.

Continue to
fit
the seat.
