Battery voltage


Check the battery voltage. Check at the earliest 6 hours after the engine has been turned off or the battery has been charged using a battery charger.

Depending on the battery voltage, the proceed as follows.

Voltage reading

Measure



Above 12.4 V

OK



Between 12.0 V and 12.4 V

Charge



Below 12.0 V

Change





Check the electrolyte level, eventually top up to normal level.

Charging

Use a battery charger that delivers a charging current of 4-8 A. The battery terminals and covers do not require removal.

Important

Do not use so called quick-chargers.
