Symptom: Check Engine on continuously or intermittently, car goes into limp-home mode with max. 60% of full power available. A screeching sound can occasionally be heard from the fuel pump when the engine is warming up.

Conditions
The following conditions apply for the DTC in question:| • |
DTC goes on if
a: Fuel supply restricted. This can be due to a pinched or folded suction line, blocked fuel filter or by foreign objects in the suction line. b: Fuel return restricted. This can be established by measuring the pressure level at the connections to the injection pump. The pressure on the suction line must not be below -0.2 bar under any circumstances. The pressure in the return line must not exceed 1.0 bar under any circumstances. c: Injection pump binding. The pump must be changed. |
