Symptom: Check Engine on. Engine speed cannot be controlled. Idle speed set to 1400 rpm.

Fault symptom

•	Check Engine on. Engine speed cannot be controlled. Idle speed set to 1400 rpm.

Conditions

The following conditions apply for the DTC in question:

•	P1515: One of the pedal position sensor leads is shorting to B+ or ground, or there is an open circuit.

•	P1522: An inadmissible combination of pedal position and idle switch position has occurred.

Diagnostic help

P1515: The position of the pedal sensor can be read on the diagnostic tool.

P1522: The status of the idle switch changes at 8-11 % pedal position. The idle switch and the position of the pedal sensor can be read on the diagnostic tool.
