Conditions
The following conditions apply for the DTC in questio:
•
|
P1662:
If the pump control module detects that its pin 5 has gone high without the EDC control module turning off the engine then the lead is shorting to B+.
|
•
|
P1663, P1664:
If the engine speed drops below 1300 rpm and the vehicle speed drops below 5 km/h, the engine will be shut off when pin 105 goes high (approx. 10 V). This turns off the fuel control valve in the pump and the engine will stop. If the engine speed has not dropped below 200 rpm after 1.3 seconds then there is a fault in the lead between the EDC control module pin 105 and the pump pin 5. The diagnostic trouble code is generated the next time the ignition is turned on.
