Pressure regulator (B235R)

Warning
|
Removal of the fuel pressure regulator involves partial dismantling of the car's fuel system. The following points must therefore be observed in connection with this work:

|
Work only in a well-ventilated area! If approved equipment for the extraction of fuel vapours is available, be sure to use it.
|
•
|
Wear suitable gloves! Prolonged contact with fuel can cause skin irritation or dermatitis.
|
•
|
Keep a class BE fire extinguisher close at hand! Beware of sparks caused by short circuits and when connecting and disconnecting leads in electrical circuits.
|
•
|
No smoking anywhere in the vicinity.
|
|
|
|
|
Important
|
To minimize any residual fuel pressure, remove the fuel pump fuse no. 32 while the engine is idling. Turn off the ignition once the engine has stopped.
|
Fit fuse no. 32.
|
|
1.
|
Remove the engine cover.
|
2.
|
Remove the turbocharger delivery pipe by:
|
|
•
|
removing the hose from the turbo pressure sensor
|
|
•
|
undoing the screw securing the by-pass pipe to the intake pipe on the turbo unit
|
|
•
|
unplugging the connector to the temperature sensor on the turbocharger delivery pipe
|
|
•
|
undoing the hose clips at the throttle body and the charge air hose
|
|
•
|
undoing the screw securing the turbocharger delivery pipe to the bracket on the cylinder head.

Detach the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
|
4.
|
Unscrew the bolt and open the clamp.
|
5.
|
Work loose the fuel pressure regulator.
|
1.
|
Lubricate the fuel pressure regulator O-ring with acid-free vaseline, part no. 30 06 665.
|
2.
|
Fit the regulator to the fuel rail and tighten the clamp.
|
3.
|
Fit the regulator vacuum hose.
|
4.
|
Fit the turbocharger delivery pipe.
|
