Check the fuel flow as well if necessary.

Injector Cyl 4

Crankshaft stationary. Activation time is limited to 30 seconds

Processor control of transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. When the output is active, the valve should be heard operating. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Check the fuel flow as well if necessary.

Ignition Coil Cyl 1

Crankshaft stationary. If an injector has been activated, the engine must be started and then turned off before the activation is allowed

Processor control of transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. Connect test spark plugs. When the output is active, a spark should be produced. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Ignition Coil Cyl 2

Crankshaft stationary. If an injector has been activated, the engine must be started and then turned off before the activation is allowed

Processor control of transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. Connect test spark plugs. When the output is active, a spark should be produced. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Ignition Coil Cyl 3

Crankshaft stationary. If an injector has been activated, the engine must be started and then turned off before the activation is allowed

Processor control of transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. Connect test spark plugs. When the output is active, a spark should be produced. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Ignition Coil Cyl 4

Crankshaft stationary. If an injector has been activated, the engine must be started and then turned off before the activation is allowed

Processor control of transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. Connect test spark plugs. When the output is active, a spark should be produced. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Throttle Motor PWM Test (30s)

When crankshaft is stationary and control module input for pedal sensor 1 is grounded and the input for pedal sensor 2 is open (connect a jumper between pins 4 and 1 in the throttle body connector).

The main relay must also be supplying control module pin 1.

Each motor lead can be supplied with B+ or ground to reverse the polarity. The processor reverses the polarity of the motor leads alternately with 50% PWM.

Control of control module output and electric circuit. Connect a test lamp between pins 5 and 10 in the throttle body connector. The lamp should alternate between green and red during the test.

Fuel Pump Flow Test

Crankshaft stationary

The fuel pump is activated for 30 s. A button on the diagnostic tool must be held in throughout the test for safety reasons.

Checks that the flow is within limits when fuel adaptation values are high and that the pressure and fuel pressure regulator response are OK when fuel adaptation values are high or low.

Injector 1 Flow Test

Crankshaft stationary

The injector is activated for 30 s. A button on the diagnostic tool must be held in throughout the test for safety reasons. The fuel pump must first be started by connecting multilead connector 83 93 886 between fuses 25 upper pin and 32 lower pin.

WARNING. The test must NEVER be carried out with the injectors mounted in the intake manifold. Checks that the flow is within limits when uneven fuel distribution between cylinders is suspected or if fuel adaptation values are high.
