Cassette Player (AS1)
Cassette Player (AS1) |
General |
The cassette player in Audio System 1 is front-feed. The mechanical functions are totally microprocessor-controlled and in the rest position (when no tape is played), the pressure rollers are withdrawn to avoid stressing the mechanism and the tape. The tape player detects the type of tape and automatically switches between normal and chrome/metallic tape. The SID display indicates automatically after 30 hours of use that the heads require cleaning.
Function |
The cassette player is activated using the TAPE button on the main unit when a tape is in place or automatically when a tape is inserted.
When the tape player is active, information is sent out on the bus. SID reads the information on the bus and shows the actual setting on the display.
