The CD-changer is an option, the following variations are available for installing the CD-changer:
1. |
Standard
, installation is possible via a connector in the front of the car. Additional wiring harness and CD-changer are required.

2. |
Prepared
, the car is completely prepared for a CD-changer which means that all leads to/from the CD-changer are included in the car's wiring harness.

3. |
CD-changer
, the car is delivered with a CD-changer, wiring harness according to point 2.
|
The CD changer is connected to the wiring harness and bus via a 12-pin connector.
The CD changer is activated by:

AS1: Pressing the CDC button on the main unit.
AS2, AS3: Pressing the CD button on the main unit once if the CD player is active. |
• |
AS2, AS3: Pressing the CD button on the main unit twice if the audio system is in RADIO mode.

Function |
The CD changer is powered separately (+30 circuit) from fuse 13 to pin 6 of the CD changer connector.
When the audio system is activated, the CD changer will read the “wake-up” information on the bus (pin 5 and pin 11) from the main unit. The CD changer is then activated (switched on).
The sound signal (line outputs) from the CD changer to the main unit is supplied via:

pins 3 and 8 for left channel

• |
pins 2 and 7 for right channel
|
The CD changer functions are controlled by commands from the main unit via the bus.
When the CD changer is active, information is transmitted to the bus. The SID unit reads the information and shows the current status on the display.

Control functions |
The CD changer in audio system 1 is controlled with the same buttons as the cassette player. For disc selection, preset buttons 1-6 on the main unit are used.
The CD changer in audio system 2 and 3 is controlled with the same buttons as the CD player. For disc selection, preset buttons 1-6 on the main unit are used.
