Fault symptoms

No bus communication with the MIU.

Conditions

The following conditions are applicable:

Trionic:

•	Engine has started

•	No communication for 3 seconds

Diagnostic help

Some of the following symptoms may be observable:

-	Additional diagnostic trouble codes in the TCM (P1902 or P1923)

-	Additional diagnostic trouble codes in the Trionic (P1901, P1902 or P1923)

-	Engine will not start

-	Cruise control not working

-	A/C not working

-	Radiator fan runs continuously

-	MIU instrumentation and lighting not working

Check wiring harness.

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool during the test.
