The battery is positioned on the left in the engine bay and its negative terminal is connected to the bodywork and gearbox. In certain markets, the batteries of petrol-engined cars are fitted with a protective cover to reduce excessive heating.
Cars with petrol engines have a 60 Ah battery and diesel engines an 85 Ah.
So-called redundancy grounding is provided between the gearbox and the left-hand wheel arch.
The battery is equipped with a dainage hose. It runs from the battery's venting nipple and along the wiring harness on the left-hand side to discharge at the side of the left-hand foglight.
