Bumper bracket

/ 9-3 (9400) / 1999 / 8. Body / Body / Adjustment/replacement / Bumper bracket

1.	Place the car in an alignment bench and cross-measure as necessary.

2.	Drill out the spot-welds.

3.	Grind off the welds and remove the bumper bracket.

4.	Align any deformed sheet metal or panels.

5.	Grind down the welds on the body.

6.	Grind clean the surfaces that are to be welded on the new bumper bracket.

7.	Grind clean the surfaces that are to be welded on the body.

8.	Apply welding primer on the surfaces to be spot-welded. Use Teroson Zinkspray.

9.	Fit the bumper bracket and measure up the position using the aligning bench measuring system. Fasten with a couple of welds.

10.	Fit the bumper and check the bumper bracket position.

11.	Seam-weld the bumper bracket.

12.	Apply a spot weld as illustrated.

13.	Grind the welds.

14.	Remove remaining welding primer. Welding primer will reduce adhesion for paint, filler and sealant.

15.	Apply primer to all bare metal surfaces. Use Standox 1K Fullprimer.

16.	Apply anti-corrosion agent internally after painting. Use Terotex HV 400 or Mercasol 1.
