Rear bumper abutment

/ 9-3 (9400) / 1999 / 8. Body / Body / Adjustment/replacement / Rear bumper abutment

1.	Place the car in an alignment bench and cross-measure as necessary.

2.	Drill out the spot-welds inside.

3.	Drill out the spot-welds outside.

4.	Remove the abutment and align any damaged sheet metal or panels.

5.	Drill holes for plug-welding in the spare part.

6.	Grind clean the surfaces to be welded on the body and spare part.

7.	Apply welding primer on the surfaces to be spot-welded. Use Teroson Zinkspray.

8.	Fit the new abutment and fixate with a few welding clamps.

9.	Fit the bumper, close the tailgate and check the fit of the abutment.

10.	Spot weld the outside of the rear bumper abutment.

11.	Plug weld the inside of the rear bumper abutment.

12.	Grind the welds.

13.	Remove remaining welding primer. Welding primer will reduce adhesion for paint, filler and sealant.

14.	Apply primer to all ground surfaces. Use Standox 1K Primer.

15.	Seal joints and sheet metal flanges with sealant. Use Terostat 1K-PUR.

16.	Apply PVC substitute on the underside of the abutment. Use Terostat 9320.
