1. Position the car in an aligning bench and cross-measure if necessary.


2. Grind down the welds and drill out the spot-welds that secure the reinforcements on the outside if the wheel housing. The reinforcement can be refitted it is undamaged.

3. Grind down the seam-welds that secure the door frame to the front wheel housing.


4. Cut free the damaged part of the door frame, see Permissible joints . Avoid cutting the sheet metal below. If the hinges are undamaged, cut the panel around the hinges

5. Drill out the spot-welds.

6. Tap loose the door frame and align any damaged panels or sheet metal.

7. Cut the spare part so that it overlaps the joint by approximately three centimetres.

8. Cut holes for the hinges if they have not been removed.

9. Fit the spare part and fixate with a couple of welding clamps.

10. Cut through the spare part and the existing door frame at the same time so that the joints can be welded edge-to-edge.


11. Drill holes for plug-welding in the front edge of the door.


12. Grind the surfaces to be welded on the spare part and on the body.

13. Apply welding primer on the surfaces to be spot-welded. Use Teroson Zinkspray.

14. Fit the spare part and fixate with a couple of welding clamps.

15. If the hinges have been removed:

Bolt the hinges to the door frame.

16. Fit the front wing and door, check the fit.

17. If the hinges have been removed:

Fasten the hinges with a couple of welds.

18. Remove the door and the front wing. Spot-weld the door frame.


19. Plug-weld the front edge of the door frame.

20. Seam-weld the door frame to the wheel housing.

21. All weld the joints and, if the hinges are in place, weld the outer panel around the hinges.

22. If the hinges have been removed:

Weld the hinges into place.


23. Weld on the reinforcement on the outside of the wheel housing.


24. Grind the welds.

25. Remove any remaining welding primer. Welding primer reduces adhesion of paint, filler and sealant.

26. Apply primer to all ground surfaces. Use Standox 1K Primer.

27. Seal joints and sheet metal flanges with sealant. Use Terostat 1K-PUR.

28. Apply anti-corrosion agent to the interior of the sill after painting. Use Terotex HV 400 or Mercasol 1.
