A pillars |
The A pillars are reinforced with a vertical bulkhead and two horizontal bulkheads positioned above and below the upper door hinge. On the inside of the A pillar is a large junction plate located between the upper and lower A pillar sections.
In the upper section of the A pillar the reinforcement of HSS (High Strength Steel) is extended so that rigidity is maintained while a cover panel on the inside of the upper A pillar section absorbs head impact energy.
The hinges are now both welded and bolted to the door frame. A strong A pillar maintains rigidity and avoids tearing in a collision.
Front doors |
The front doors are reinforced with larger lock reinforcement of HSS (High Strength Steel) and deformation of the inner panel. This enables the doors to absorb higher impact forces.
